A Day In The City
We've been so busy lately shooting in Jersey City, we decided to shoot across the tube and take some photos of "Wall Street West" (Jersey City Waterfront) from the other side of the Hudson. In our anticipation of getting all those "fantastic" images of the JC waterfront, we forgot to look behind us. When we did...whoa! The day was beautiful, a little windy, and just a "few" of us had the same idea ;)
Well, we fell in love with NYC all over again. The Lower Manhattan skyline is wonderful from across the Hudson (as viewed from JC)...

But standing at the foot of these behemoths is another thing altogether! Wow! I'm sure we looked like absolute tourists craning our necks to see the top...and the Freedom Tower is even more majestic up close.
We thought about going to the 911 Memorial, but decided to leave that for another day when we can spend more time there.
I'm still fascinated by the architecture and the grand scale of New York...there really is no place like it on earth.
Incidentally, all of these photographs were taken with a Nikon D600 camera with a Nikon 24-85mm lens. Straightened all the images using DxO's fantastic Viewpoint plug-in, and all other editing was done in good ol' Lightroom - that's right, NO Photoshop! Handheld with an ND 2 filter (we lugged the tripods, but they never saw the light of day).
Probably the only problem we encountered was finding parking (which we did)...and of course, the tunnel traffic (is there EVER a good time to take the Holland Tunnel?). A great day...oh, I almost forgot...the reason we went there in the first place (see below)...

Kinda makes it all worthwhile, no? Until next time, take care...
